Downtown Boise is Boise’s cultural center and home to many small businesses and a few mid-rises. Local flavor includes a variety of local boutiques, bars, and diverse dining options. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the vibrant nightlife that downtown offers including many local breweries, wineries and dance clubs. The Basque block highlights Boise’s Basque heritage. Main attractions include the Idaho State Capitol, the historic Egyption Theatre, the Boise Art Museum, the History Museum, Zoo Boise, the Discovery Center and many parks. The Boise River and the Greenbelt run down the middle of the city making biking or walking easy and enjoyable. Jack’s Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) is a state of the art community center that hosts many local events. Boise Centre on the Grove is also a hub for community gatherings and sporting events such as Steelheads hockey and Alive After Five on Wednesdays during the summer months.
